Waterfront Communities in the St. Petersburg & Tierra Verde Area

This area features many different communities and some wonderful attractions and amenities. There is something to do for everyone. Isla del Sol is but one of several locations that offers its members a prestigious level of services and lifestyle. Isla del Sol is located on an island in the Boca Ciega Bay. Isla del Sol is close to downtown St. Petersburg which is to the northeast and to the west is St. Pete Beach. Also minutes away is Fort Desoto, that was voted the #1 beach in America in 2005.

Isla Del Sol offers its members the possibility to enjoy world-class golf, exceptional tennis, a full service Yacht Club and a year full of social events. A privilege of being an Isla Del Sol member is the availability of selecting Yacht & Country clubs in the state. The clubs offer the members the possibility to utilize their facilities.

Fort Desoto County Park

Fort De Soto Park is a park operated by Pinellas County on five offshore keys, or islands lying to the city's south-southwest: Madelaine Key, St. Jean Key, St. Christopher Key, Bonne Fortune Key and the main island, Mullet Key outside the city of St. Petersburg. The keys are connected by either bridge or causeway. The island group is accessible by toll road from the mainland. Historically, the islands were used for military fortifications, and remnants, as well as a museum, exhibit this history. Two piers, beaches, picnic area, hiking trails, bicycling trails, kayak trail, and a ferry to Egmont Key State Park are available. The park is a 'gateway site' for the Great Florida Birding Trail.

The Dali Museum

The Dali Museum is rich in works from renowned artist Salvador Dali's entire career, with key works from every moment and in every medium of his artistic activity. The Collection includes 96 oil paintings, many original drawings, bookworks, prints, sculpture, photos, manuscripts, and an extensive archive of documents. Dolphin Cay Ln

The Dolphin Cay community is located on an 88-acre site with a 24-acre preserve, nature trails and boardwalks on Boca Ciega Bay. The Lakeside Casino Clubhouse that provides an elegant common area, and 3 swimming pools, tennis courts, and a 2-acre beach with pavilion are the amenities available for the 46 single family home sites and 7 condominium buildings.

Tierra Verde

Tierra Verde is a community located just south west of Tampa on what was 15 islands covered with mangroves, pines and bushes and was called Mullet Key. In 1948 the federal government sold it to Pinellas County for use as park and recreation facilities. In 1957 Waldron-Green Associates applied for a dredge-and-fill permit in order to pump approximately 9 million cubic yards of sand and shells from the bottom of the bay to enlarge and raise the ground level of the islands. At first the only way to get here was by boat, but then in 1984 the community was linked via Interstate 275 and the property sales increased greatly.

Tierra Verde has nowadays approximately 2,000 single-family, condos and townhouses. The residents can fish in the local waters, watch dolphins and sail to the Gulf of Mexico in minutes and also play on the beaches of Fort De Soto Park.

Guy Harvey Outpost

Guy Harvey Outpost, a TradeWinds Beach Resort, is located on the white sands of St. Pete Beach. It offers two swimming pools, one is for adults only, a seafood grill and a beach bar. It also allows the use of beach cabanas and paddleboards and also it offers access to the Island Grand Resort and the use of its facilities like the fitness center, tennis courts, beach volleyball, mini-golf and others.

Tradewinds Island Grand

Tradewinds Island Grand is a 20 acre beachfront playground that is perfect for recreation and having fun. Here you can learn to surf, fly with a jet-pack, party with a pirate, play in their water park, and eat the freshest seafood that Florida has to offer. There are also plenty of activities for kids like KONK camps, crafts and family activities. The staff will make sure that all the guests can relax while visiting the resort.

Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater

Duke Energy Center for the Arts - The Mahaffey Theater is a 2,031-seat cultural venue with an elegant ballroom space, spectacular waterfront views and box-style seating. It is located only a few steps from Downtown and just minutes away from white sandy beaches and famous museums. The theater hosts a variety of top-quality national and international performances and is home to the renowned Florida Orchestra. The theater also supports the successful Class Acts program which allows children to experience the performing arts through in-theater performances and in-school outreach and extension programs.

Sundial St. Pete

Sundial is St. Petersburg's no.1 retail, dining and entertainment center that is located in downtown. Sundial includes a special array of shops, restaurants and spa experiences that are unique to the Tampa Bay area. The center has a modern design with finishes such as travertine, quartzite stone, custom stainless railings, shade umbrellas, skylights and videoboards. The centerpiece is a almost three story sundial and fountain designed by René Lagler. The sundial was designed to keep accurate solar time and it reflects St. Petersburg's history as the Sunshine City. Additionally, the St. Petersburg-based artist Mark Aeling created bronze dolphins that provide a great picture spot.
