Howarth Park & Spring Lake

Howarth Park, Spring Lake, and Annadel are amazing places to hike, walk the dog, take the kids, go paddle boating, or just enjoy nature! You can stay close to the car and have a wonderful time, or really get back there for a longer hike. Truly a wonderful place.

Santa Rosa Junior College

Go there for academia or for fun: SRJC, with campuses in both Santa Rosa and Petaluma and other sites in Sonoma County, offers AA/AS degrees, many certificate programs and support for transfer to four-year universities. There are wine, art, and cooking classes, an art gallery, a museum, and performing arts and lectures. Many events are inexpensive or free and open to the public.

To the east of the JC (as we call it here) is what's known as the JC Neighborhood. Take a drive or a walk through and find all the gems of the area! The homes are well-kept, unique, and charming. The streets are quiet and lined with trees and roses. Ten minutes and you'll fall in love.

Thriving & Eclectic Downtown Santa Rosa

Downtown Santa Rosa is comprised of small independent stores, bookstores, lots of good food including Mexican, Italian, Fusion, American, and Ethiopian. It's home to several famous breweries. The Santa Rosa Plaza is a great indoor mall and is in easy walking distance. Come at night and see the lights!

Bodega Bay – Beautiful Beaches, Excellent Seafood

Bodega Bay is a cute little ocean town with lots of great seafood. The beaches are amazingly beautiful. The best time of year is the fall. Check out Salmon Creek for playing in the sand and the Bodega Head for breathtaking views and natural rock sculptures. Park at Shell Beach and hike 2 miles east to Pomo Canyon in the redwoods, a marvelous walk.

Snoopy's Ice Arena

Snoopy's is a great place for date night, taking the kids, and taking skate or hockey lessons. There's also a café and across the street is the Charles Shultz Museum, plus a new kid's park!

The best gym in town! Reasonable prices, lots of equipment, friendly staff. Bright and open floor plan with natural lighting. Enjoy a full sized pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Good deals on personal training.

Matanzas Creek Winery

Set in a quiet and gorgeous hilly landscape, Mantanzas is a wonderful place to relax and sip wine with a view. The grounds are elegant and the afternoon breeze is soft. A great place for weddings too!

Laguna Wetlands

The Laguna is a natural flood plane. In the winter it often fills with water, reflecting the magnificent oak trees. In the summer it is a grassy, open place perfect for taking a stroll or walking the dog. You can even walk to the new outdoor and eclectic shopping center in Sebastopol, the Barlow for local wine, hand-made ice cream, distilleries, fine dining, and more.

Coddingtown Mall

The Coddintown Mall is convenient and easy to access. It's main amenities are Target, Whole Foods, Macy's, Bank of the West, Baskin Robbins, BJ's, Chipotle, and lots more. SEA Thai Restaurant is a fantastic place to have dinner, too! Parking is easy, no meters or garages to worry about!

Santa Rosa Fairgrounds

The fairgounds are used throughout the year for a variety of events. One of the largest is the County Fair in the summer, which hosts farm animal judging, local milk and ice cream, hundreds of local vendors with delicious local food and crafts, art pavilions, a petting zoo, live music and comedy shows, and even carnival rides!
The harvest festival features a grape stomp contest, largest pumpkin contest, and is lots of fun.
The heirloom festival is a real treat – experience thousands of varieties of all different kinds of vegetables and produce.
