Lyons Township High School

According to the annual rankings by U.S. News and World Report, Lyons Township High School was ranked No. 46 in Illinois. The School is divided into two campuses; North & South. The South Campus, located off of Willow Springs Road, houses freshmen & sophomore grade levels, while juniors and seniors attend the North Campus, right off of Brainard Ave.

Western Springs Metra Station (N)

The Metra/Amtrack station is located right across the street from Harris Bank & Oberweis ice cream shop. The train will take you straight to the Union Station, located in downtown Chicago, stopping along the way in LaGrange, Brookfield, Riverside, Berwyn, Cicero, Western Avenue, and on Halsted.


Started in Kane County in 1915, Oberweis has been the go-to place for dairy products. Oberweis is located across the street from the Western Springs train station and offers a large variety of delicious, creamy ice cream, shakes, milk, and juices. In addition, milk can be delivered to your home, upon request.

Western Springs Fruit Store

From watery, sweet fruit to fresh vegetables- this store has it all. Conveniently located in the heart of Western Springs, right across the street from the train station, The Fruit Store was originally opened in 1927. You can find the original hanging scale in the Water Tower Museum, as it was donated in 1977. The store also offers gourmet gift baskets & fruit & vegetable arrangements for every budget. Western Springs Water Tower

The Water Tower is located in the heart of Willow Springs. Until 1957, it served as the village office, police station, police magistrate court, and jail. In 1966, the Western Springs Historical Society decided to convert the tower into a town museum; it opened as such in 1970. Today, the Water Tower offers both, permanent and rotating exhibits. Among the permanent exhibits, you'll find the replica of the 1890 train depot, old town photographs, and papers from the Historical Society.

Spring Rock Park

Spring Rock Park is located just blocks West of the down-town Western Springs area.

Lyons Township High School South

Grand Avenue School

Grand Ave School is a private-owned school, servicing Western Springs, LaGrange Highlands, and LaGrange since 1981. The school houses grades pre-school through 5th grade. The school offers before and after school care, all day pre-school, kindergarten enrichment programs, and summer camps.

McClure Junior High School

McClure Jr. High School belongs to district 101; it's the home of the Bulldogs. The school offers exceptional programs for its students, and lays a foundation for educational success. From special ed to accelerated courses, the school ensures each child is provided with the tools to succeed. The school's clubs, including arts and sports, provide children with many enjoyable, after-school activities. The school prides itself in their approach of handling bullying and other, anti-social behavior. With systems in place and properly trained staff, children are provided with great learning environment.

Field Park Elementary School

Located at 4335 Howard Ave in Western Springs, Field Park falls in the school district 101. The school offers challenging academic programs, from Pre-K through 5th grade, designed to push your child to be their best. According to, Field Park Elementary ranked better than 96% of other elementary schools in the state of Illinois.

John Laidlaw Elementary School

Located at 4072 Forest Ave in Western Springs, John Laidlaw Elementary School is a part of the school district 101. Its boundaries fall between Forest & Maple Ave. The school offers a broad range of programs for students from K through 5th grade, and has a policy of open enrollment. The open enrollment allows parents to request enrollment in another school. The school offers 15:1, student to teacher ratio, ensuring the pupils get the attention they need to succeed. Lastly, the school prides itself in having a great PTO program, to support the students and academics.

Forest Hills Elementary School

Forest Hills Elementary School is another grade school that falls in the school district 101. The school houses grades K through 5, and provides fantastic academic programs. The average class size is at about 21 students. But, the school's ISAT Reading scores fell at 111; 12 points higher than the state average.
