Piedmont, Home to Top Rated Schools and More

Piedmont, California is a small desirable town located within 20 minutes of downtown San Francisco. Piedmont is popular with families for many reasons including its top rated school system K-12, small town community with just under 11,000 residents (approximately 3000 homes), as well as having its own police and fire departments. The town is conveniently located within 1-4 hours of world class destinations, such as Lake Tahoe, Yosemite, Pebble Beach, Napa, Sonoma and Healdsburg.

Piedmont High School

Piedmont High School is located in the center of town just across the street from our Highland Partners Real Estate office and adjacent to the Piedmont Park. Piedmont is recognized is one of the top ranked high school's in the country.

Havens Elementary School

Frank C. Havens is the largest of the three elementary schools located in Piedmont with four classes per grade. Wildwood and Beach are the other two top-rated elementary schools located in town. Both Wildwood and Beach have a smaller student body.

Wildwood Elementary School

Wildwood Elementary, my alma mater. Wildwood Elementary School is one of Piedmont's three elementary schools. Wildwood is the second in terms of size, Havens with the largest student body and Beach with the smallest. All three elementary schools are highly rated and include a very popular after school program called School Mates run by the Piedmont Recreation Center. Wildwood School is located just above Witter Field.

Beach Elementary School

Beach Elementary School is the smallest of the three top rated Elementary schools located in Piedmont. Beach is located between Grand and Piedmont Avenues. Beach is noted for its Beach Revue, a play put on by the students. I have never seen it myself as our children attended Havens Elementary School, but year after year I hear fantastic reviews. Definitely a highlight for both kids and parents.

Piedmont Middle School

Piedmont Middle School is the only middle school in Piedmont. Located in the middle of town just below Piedmont High School overlooking the San Francisco Bay. I recall when I first got glasses, in 7th grade, and was looking out from the third floor, than called Piedmont Junior High and thought to myself -- WOW! how clear the buildings and skyline are, so defined and perfectly outlined like a picture in coloring book. PMS is situated above Witter Field and is accessed by what we call, PE Hill. Such great memories of being on the basketball team, gymnastics team and making the cheerleading team.

Mulberry's Market

Mulberry's Market, is Piedmont's only market in town. A hangout for parents and kids alike. Don't hit the market at rush hour, at lunch or after school. Mulberry's is filled with gourmet foods, a coffee bar, deli and gift items. If you donate enough to the schools, Mulberry's might just name a sandwich after you!

Piedmont City Hall

Piedmont City Hall is located in the center of town. Residents visit the City Hall to obtain permits for home and garden remodeling as well as to attend city council meetings. Piedmont City Hall is a beautiful architectural jewel built by Albert Farr.

Piedmont Recreation Center

The Piedmont Recreation Center is a stunning building located adjacent to the Piedmont Swim Club and Piedmont Middle and High Schools. Go online or pick up a copy of the Rec Center Catalog filled with activities for kids and parents alike. I have wonderful memories of taking pottery classes when I was a young child and later taking our kids to Tiddlywinks. Such fun, fond memories.

Piedmont Community Hall

Piedmont Community Hall is situated in the Piedmont Park surrounded by gorgeous Redwood trees. The Piedmont Community Center is a perfect venue for wedding, birthday or other special celebration. Each year in April, the Children's Support League hosts their Heart of the Home Tour and the community center is filled with beautiful and unique gift items and food trucks. CSL supports children at risk. To learn more go to www.wehelpkids.org To book the PCC for your next event contact the Piedmont Recreation Center.

Piedmont Fire Department

The Piedmont Fire Department is located in the city center across from Havens Elementary School, Mulberry's, Piedmont Veteran's Hall, Piedmont City Hall, Piedmont Police Department, and our office, Highland Partners. The Piedmont Tennis Courts, Piedmont Middle School, Piedmont High School and the Piedmont Center for the Arts are just around the corner. Stop by and say hello, the firemen are always very welcoming or wave to them as they jog through town and of course on the 4th of July.

Piedmont Center for the Arts

The Piedmont Center for the Arts is Piedmont's newest addition to our community. The PCA is a place to gather for art exhibits, classes, plays and book signings. The Center is centrally located in Piedmont at 801 Magnolia Avenue, at the corner of Bonita Avenue, across the street from Piedmont High and Middle Schools and just down the street from Highland Partners.
