Communitties in and Around Hershey, PA.

Hershey/Harrisburg region is a is beautiful region, possessing incredible culture, rich history and picturesque scenery.
The Hershey area is an area many people move to from other regions because they like the small town feel easy compute to the Harrisburg and Lancaster areas. Plenty of employment opportunities whether it is for corporations, small business or seasonal part time employment.
There is something for everyone, minor league baseball teams, entertainment throughout the year at the Giant Center in Hershey, wineries, golfing, shopping centers, antiques, and a number of local communities with a rich history like Mount Gretna, Annville, Lititz, Carlisle, Hershey and more.
If you’re up for a day trip or extended weekend there are many points of interest. Heading south to Baltimore, Gettysburg, East to Philadelphia, or the New Jersey shorelines, north to the beautiful mountains or west to State College or Pittsburg.
Farmers markets are a favorite of many. You will find small markets in Hershey, Palmyra, and larger markets in Harrisburg, Lancaster, and Lebanon. Another favorite local market is Roots market in Manheim, open every Tuesday.

Cocoa Towns

Community is located on the edge of In-Town-Hershey, close to grocery stores, medical doctors and many other health providers. Homes in Cocoa Townes have a range of 2100 to 2900 square feet of living area, 3/4 bedrooms generally have 2 to 3 full baths plus a powder room. Lower level for additional storage or living area. Its a great community if you're looking for hassle free living.

In Town Herhey

In town Hershey is a very desirable area to live. Home in town vary from your basic duplex dwellings, to large stately homes. Square feet will vary from 1200 to 4000. The large homes tend to be on the south side of town located on Elm Ave area. If you like being close to conveniences, living on tree lined street, and older homes with charm this is an area to check out. This area is so desirable that some buyers have bought homes sites and placed new construction after the older home has been demolished.

Southpoint

Southpoint is a development that was build over many years starting in the late 1980's with single family homes and townhomes. Most of the townhomes are 2 story homes with a lower level. Above grade finished square feet is 1300 to 1400. many of the homes do have a finished lower level that will offer up to 1800 square feet of living area. The earlier single family homes are typical for the time with your traditional formal dining room and living room. Square feet for the older homes range from 1500 to 2200. During the 2000's the homes did tend to feature higher ceilings, open floor plans, spacious master suites with square feet in the 2200 to 2800 range. The last phase of SouthPoint is known as Southpoint commons that offers more open space, trails, larger, more spacious homes with many upgrades and adjoins a community park. Southpoint provided easy access to Route 283 leading to Lancaster and Harrisburg, PA.

Park Place

Park Place is located off of Derry Road with great access to Rt 743 north of Hershey Park. Townhomes built in the early 2000’sfeature 1600 to 2000 square feet, 3 bedrooms, with 2 ½ bath, 1 car garage, most have a Lower level for additional storage or living area. Homes feature vaulted ceiling, second floor laundry and some have a fireplace, Heat is natural gas. Quarterly association dues cover snow removal and lawn care. Bedrooms for most of the homes are on the second level.

Glen Acres

Glen Acres is a blend of many home styles, ranch, split, bi-level, and 2 story homes on 1/3 acre lots. Most of the homes were built during the late 1950’s through 1960’s with 1200 to over 2000 square feet of living area with basements and an attached garage.
I am sure you noticed I spelled Glen Acres with one N, you will also see it spelled with 2 N’s Glenn Acres.

The community lies south of In-Town Hershey along route 743, conveniently located to grocery stores, medical facilities and schools.

Deer Run

Deer Run is a mix of Townhomes, Condos and single family homes, Located in Derry Township south of Hummelstown off Middletown/Hummelstown Road. Easy access to Rt 283 leading to Lancaster and Harrisburg, and Harrisburg International Airport. Traditional 2 story and Ranch style homes featuring square feet in range of 1800 to 2400, more modern open floor plans, with natural gas heat, some homes will have finished lower levels, attached garages, typically 3+ bedrooms. Have a yearly association fee to maintain common area.
Townhomes are mostly 2 story, some of the end unit townhomes are 1 story living, Feature 2 plus bedrooms, natural gas heat, 1 car garage, turn key lifestyle with monthly association dues towards grounds maintenance. Community stared during the late 1990’s and currently they are building Condos.
Community offers walking trails, play area for children, baseball field, tennis court and basketball court.

Stone Creek

Stone Creek is a community of upscale Single family homes and duplex town villas. Townhomes are spacious and inviting open floor plans that feature a first floor master suite, Square feet will range from 2500 to 3000, fireplace, 3 bedrooms, minimum of 2 ½ baths, 9 foot ceilings, attached garage and turn key lifestyle.
Single family detached homes are also upscale homes featuring open floor plans; fireplace, vaulted ceilings, 4 plus bedrooms, square feet will range from 2600 to 3400. They all have a lower level s, some walk-out and finished for additional living area.
Community is located on the south west end of Derry Township (South of Hummelstown) with easy access to route 283 leading to Harrisburg, Lancaster, Harrisburg International Airport and Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Stoney Run

Stoney Run offers Exquisite homes with upscale amenities. Vary in size from 3000 square feet of living area to over 5000 on sizeable lots that offer privacy surrounded by trees and fabulous landscaping. Homes in the 3000 square feet tend to have 4 bedrooms with a 2 car garage, when you get into the larger homes you will find many will have a minimum of 5 bedrooms with a 3 car garage.
As a result of natural gas in the area you will find most homes have a gas fireplace and are heated with natural gas by forced hot air.
You’ll discover you are close to walking trails and shanks park. Drive is only a few minutes to Milton Hershey Medical Center and Rt 322 leading to The State Capital.
The homes in Stoney Run will have basements; many are finished for additional living area, and exposed walk out finished lower levels that is afforded by the terainee.

Carol Acres

Carol Acres is located south of Hummelstown in Derry Township / Derry township School district (Hershey school).
Most of the homes were built during the 1970’s and 1980’s with some as late as early 1990’s
Homes built during the earlier years are a mix of styles from Ranch homes, bi-level, split-levels and traditional two story. Square feet will range from 13.00 to 2300 with the average home having 3 bedrooms, 2 car garage, and a basement.
Due to the trainee you will not see many level flat lots and the size are typically 1/3 of an area.
Carol acres provides easy access to Milton Hershey Medical Center, and Route 322 leading to employment and shopping in and near the Capital area region.

Shady Hill Estates

Shady Hill Estates is a community tucked away behind Milton Hershey Medical Center. Lots for the single family homes average ½ acre in size on rolling wooded trainee that offer privacy with natural surroundings.
Single family homes range from 3000 square feet of living area to low 4000’s. Built during the early 1990’s to mid 1990’s. Feature generous size rooms with an open floor plan, with 4/5 bedrooms, and 3 plus baths. As in most home in this region they have a lower level some are finished for additional living area. You will appreciate the economical Natural gas heating systems, home also feature two car attached garage, fireplace and the selection of upgraded materials in these homes.
Association for single family homes covers the common area, for the attached homes the association dues takes care of the grounds maintenance.
Attached homes were built with the same quality of workmanship and offer low to mid 2000 finished square feet of living area, 2 or 3 bedrooms with a two car garage, lower levels for additional storage and living area.

Wellbeckon

Wellbeckon is a small community of about 20 home sites built during the 1990’s. Two story homes with 2400 to 3400 square feet of living area on level ½ plus size lots. Homes have open floor plans with 9 foot ceilings, 4 bedrooms and 3 plus baths. Home owners association dues are minimal and are used to maintain the common area. Upgraded kitchens and baths are the norm in these homes with lower levels, and 2 car garage. Sidewalks in the community make it a great area to walk without any concern of rolling hilly terrane.
Community is located about 5 minutes from Hershey Medical center, and offers close proximity to Rt 322. If you’re looking for a county environment this maybe the location to consider.

Laurel Woods

Laurel Woods is located in Derry Township and Conewago Township, Students from Conewago attend Lower Dauphin School. The community was built during the 1970’s, in a secluded area surrounded by nature on lot sizes just over ½ acre. Homes have square feet of 1800 to 2600 above grade, traditional 2 story designs, with attached garages, basements, central air and fireplaces. Water source is well with public sewer.

Palmdale

Palmdale is located east of Hershey in Derry Township. Route 422 (Chocolate Ave) goes through it. Borders Lebanon County town and the town Palmyra. Palmdale is a mix of single family residential homes, small business, and some townhomes. Many of the homes were built during the 1920’s through 1950’s. There is a nice mobile home community that sits along the edge of Palmdale south of RT 422.

Oakmont

Oakmont is a condo community built during the 1980’s. The idea of this community came after the builder visited California and saw how the home were built on cliffs and hills. Having been to California I can say these homes are nowhere near being built on cliffs but the area is hilly and offers much privacy and fabulous views.
Condos feature 2 to 3 bedrooms, and baths. Average square feet is in the 1400 to 1800 range, Jack and Jill bathrooms, many homes will have a exposed walk out lower level, integral garage or attached 2 car garage. There are some homes that master bedrooms are on the main level.
Convenient to Hershey Med Center, major highway systems and shopping. Located in Derry Township, Derry Township School District with a Hummelstown address, physically if driving on Rt 322 you’ll see Oakmont is located on the hills south of 322 and Lower Dauphin High School. To get there exit the Middletown/Hummelstown exit, take Waltonville Road, turn left on Wood Road.

Waltoncroft

Waltoncroft is a one way in/one way out community w/access to 90 AC Shank Park & miles of walking/biking trails. Close to Milton Hershey Medical Center and Harrisburg International airport.
Home were built during the 1980’s many feature a generous foyer with 4 bedrooms and baths. They are single family homes with an average of 3000 square feet of living area, 2 car garage on 1/3 to ½ acre lots. No home owners association.

Derry Woods

Derry Woods is a community of executive style homes ranging from 3500 to over 5000 square feet on lot sizes range from 1/3 acre to 3/4 acre. 3 car garage is the typical, natural gas heat. Many of the home shave finished lower levels, 4 plus bedrooms, large master suites. Association dues go towards upkeep of common area. Minutes from Milton Hershey Medical Center and great access to Harrisburg.

The Pines

The Pines is a small community tucked away in Conewago Township with a Hershey Address and in Lower Dauphin School District.
These homes have fabulous open floor plans with square feet ranging from 3000 to 5000. Three car garage, 4 plus bedrooms are common. Lots are wooded and range from 1.5 acre lots to over 4 acres.
Association dues go towards common area, the location affords easy access to all points with access to Rt 283, and yes a short drive to Hershey or the Lebanon County region.
No sidewalks in this community but if you are into walking you’ll find it easy with the level roads and low traffic count.
No public water or sewer. Most homes are heated by way of forced hot air with electric or propane, have central air, 9 foot ceilings, upgraded interiors through out.

Jacobs Creek

Jacobs Creek is located on the South end of Derry Township along Rt 743 South towards Elizabethtown. Location provides great access to Hershey, PA. and Route 283 with easy access to Lancaster and Harrisburg regions.
Traditional style homes with 4/5 bedrooms and 2 plus bathrooms, 2 car garage, and 2200 to 2500 square feet of living area. Most of the homes were built during the 2000’s. On relatively smaller lots for growing professionals yet offers walking trails, and open areas so you can enjoy the nature and wildlife. With Natural gas as the primary source of heating. Home owners association covers the common area within the development.

Hygate

Hyatt is a community located on Chocolate Ave, (Rt 422) in town Hershey. The condo community affords a great maintenance free lifestyle In-Town Hershey; here you can walk to the local well known grocery store; Pronios Market, restaurants, and yes Hershey Park!
Homes feature 2/3 bedrooms with 2 plus baths, lower level for additional living area and storage. All parking is off street and parking spaces are assigned with available visitors parking. Adorable patios enhance your our door living.

Briardale

Briardale is located along Governor Rd, (Rt 322). You can be at the Milton Hershey Medical Center with in minutes and offers great access to the Harrisburg region including access to Elizabethtown or Lancaster County with the close proximity of Rt 743. The development was started during the early 1970’s and has many styles of single family homes and wide range of square feet of living area. The homes will have basements, attached garages, central air with 3 to 4 bedrooms with 2 plus baths and no association fee.

Crest of Hershey

Crest of Hershey are condos located across Governor Rd. (Rt 322) from the Milton Hershey Medical Center and conveniently located. Homes are traditional 2 story and the end units are cape cods with master suites in the first level and second bedroom on second level with a loft. Most have a 1 car garage and plenty of off street parking. You will find the square feet to average at about 1400. These homes were built during the 1980’s
There are Condos in The Crest of Hershey that were built during the 1990’s that are larger more spacious homes with integral garages.
In addition to the townhomes there are a number of single family condos, one and two story homes.
You will find this community has easy access not just to the Medical Center, and the Hershey Lodge but also easy access to the Harrisburg region.

Orchard Run

Orchard Run is a community of townhomes. Some of the townhomes have lower level. The Association fee is due yearly and goes towards the common area of the community. Homes are a mix of 2 story and Cape Cod style homes, Cape cods feature master suite on the 1st level.
Community sits along Hummelstown/Middletown road and offers easy access to The Harrisburg and Lancaster county regions with routes 283 and 322.

Cambridge Commons

Cambridge Commons is a great community if you are looking for Turn Key lifestyle. Located within walking distance to grocery store, features bike paths, medical faculties and walking trails yet in a peaceful area surrounding by awesome landscaping. Average square feet of living area is 1600 above grade, (however there are some larger homes) with great inter connected rooms, spacious master suites. Natural gas heat, fireplace, attached garages for 1 or 2 cars. The development has over 180 homes.
Cambridge Commons single family homes has 30 home sites. Size of homes vary from about 1500 square feet of living area to over 3000. Single family homes are not condos and home owners are responsible for all maintaince.

Indian Run

Indian Run is a community of single family detached homes located in Derry Township School district that affords great access to Harrisburg with Route 322 and Lancaster with Route 283.
Low home owners association fee take care of the common area. There are a variety of home styles from bi-levels to spacious traditional homes with over 3000 square feet of living area. Community was developed during the 1990’s, lot sizes are a average of 1/3 acre with level yards.
Development is relatively small with just over 30 home sites.
