Indian Lake Lakefront Living in Hendersonville, Tennessee

Indian Lake is a community that is comprised of many neighborhoods, great schools and recreational activities. Located on the Old Hickory Lake peninsula, these homes range from custom built lakefront properties to beautiful subdivisions, including Ballentrae, The Meadows of Indian Lake, Berry Hill, and Indian Lake Ridge and Hazel Path and Point-O-View.

Indian Lake Elementary School

Indian Lake Elementary is in the heart of the Indian Lake community. A Nationally awarded Blue Ribbon K-5 elementary school, which is known for successful fund-raising and community events. Indian lake Elementary also opens its doors to non-profit organizations nearby, such as the Cub Scouts program of Pack 407.

Nannie Smith Berry Elementary School

Nannie Berry Elementary is located across from the newly developed Indian Ridge housing community. This K-5 Elementary has been a heartbeat of Hendersonville and has been very successful throughout the years in community awareness. The location of this school is also conveniently within walking distance to both the Ellis Middle School and Hendersonville High School.

Ellis Middle School

Ellis Middle School was renovated as the former High School and opened its doors in 1994 as the Cougars of Elllis! The school faces the main street of Hendersonville, Gallatin Road, and is also the local attraction to the city fireworks on July 4th each year, including live bands to enhance the experience! The most interesting characteristic of this building is the Dome shape, making the annual Cougar Classic soccer tournament a unique venue.

Hendersonville High School

Hendersonville High School was completed in the early 1990's and is home to the highly support "Hendersonville Commandos" program. Football, soccer, golf, wrestling, swimming and other programs have successfully won TSSAA State Championships over the years. The school is located across for the Old Hickory Lake, within walking distance to the Hazel Path subdivision and across the street from the Drakes Creek Park.

Ballentrae Subdivision

Ballentrae subdivision is located between the Point-O-View and Meadows of Indian Lake housing communities. Ballentrae was started in the late 1980's as one of the Premier neighborhoods of the time and has many custom built properties of interest. This area is under 2 miles away from Indian Lake Elementary and the Indian Lake Swim and Tennis Club and provides easy access to the Old Hickory Lake at the Start Knob boat ramp at just a 5 mile.

Indian Ridge Subdivision

Indian Ridge subdivision is one of the newest housing communities in the Indian Lake area and has some high-end customer built properties. Located across from Nannie Berry Elementary, Ellis Middle School and Hendersonville High School, this sought after neighborhood is private and close to the heart of Hendersonville main districts.

The Meadows of Indian Lake Subdivision

The Meadows of Indian Lake is one of the newest housing communities and is still currently being built with expansion to come through the Batey Builders. Located adjacent to the Indian Lake Elementary, the Indian Lake Swim and Tennis Club and Hendersonville Fire Department, this community has a lot to offer with custom solutions available to be built.

Berry Hill Subdivision

The Berry Hill housing development is one of the newest in the Indian Lake area and is still being developed by the Phillips Builders. This neighborhood sits atop one of the larger hills in the city and located behind the neighborhood Bluegrass Baptist Church. Off the main Indian Lake Road, this area is moments away from local schools and the main city of Hendersonville.

Bluegrass Baptist Church

Bluegrass Baptist Church has been in the community for a very long time and has had many expansions both in building and member programs. Located next to the Berry Hill housing community, this congregation is the only church located inside the Indian Lake area and is host to many youth organized programs, like recreational basketball.

Indian Lake Forest Swim and Tennis Club

The Indian Lake Swim and Tennis Club is a private membership facility. It offers its members a pool with diving board and slide, concessions, sand volleyball, kids activity center and tennis courts. Since 1969, this club has grown and adjusted to the growth of the area and holds some of the finest events of the summer for Memorial Day, July 4th Cookout, Warrior Swim Meets and Back to School party!
