Living the Good Life in the Waterfront Community of Tega Cay, SC

Tega Cay thrives as a vital and recreational community on Lake Wylie. The 1600-acre peninsula, surrounded by 16 miles of shoreline, offers golf, swimming, boating, tennis, hiking and biking trails. Tega Cay has rugged topography and many densely wooded greenbelts. Only one road, Tega Cay Drive, for entering and exiting the city. The new clubhouse is located in the center of the city and has a restaurant, bar, and Golf Pro-Shop. Diners may sit inside, or outside on the veranda `overlooking the golf course. There are eight tennis courts, junior Olympic sized swimming pool, athletic fields, three waterfront parks, walking trails, interior parks, and a marina.

Tega Cay Golf Club and Conference Center

The Tega Cay Golf Club, Tega Cay Clubhouse and the Glennon Community and Conference Center are located in the center of the peninsula and in the heart of Tega Cay. There are 27 holes of golf which roll throughout the 200 acres and surrounding Lake Wylie shoreline. The clubhouse has over 15,000 square feet and includes a golf shop, event pavilion, restaurant and grill.

Tega Cay Marina

The Tega Cay Marina offers both covered boat slips and open slips for an annual rental fee. They also have pontoon boat rentals, jet ski rentals and a free pump out station. The marina store sells boating supplies, snacks and soft drinks. There is also a repair shop for boat repairs and maintenance.

Tega Cay Beach Club and Fitness Center

The Tega Cay Beach and Swim Center is located towards the front of the development on Beach Club Lane off of Shoreline Parkway. There is a junior Olympic sized pool, wading pool with umbrella fountain, volleyball court and swimming beach. There are a few picnic tables and park benches on the grounds outside the rec center. It has a fitness center with nautilus equipment, cardio equipment and free weights. Memberships are required and there are different membership packages available.

Windjammer Beach Park

Windjammer Park is a beautiful waterfront park located at the very end of the road on a point with almost 360 degree views of Lake Wylie. There are swimming beaches on both sides. On the west side, you can view the beautiful Lake Wylie sunsets. There is a picnic shelter, playground, and a lakeside swing to sit and watch the boats and view the beauty of Lake Wylie. On July 4th, every year trolley cars shuttle residents to Windjammer Park from the Tega Cay clubhouse to watch canoe jousting competitions, a ski show by the Carolina Ski Team and the July 4th boat parade. Residents decorate their boats and parade by the judges to compete for the best boat display.

Runde Park

Runde Park is the center of many athletic and recreational activities in Tega Cay. Managed by Tega Cay Parks and Recreations, there are 3 ball fields which host soccer, baseball, softball and kickball leagues for all ages. In the summer time, a stage goes up. Residents bring their chairs and blankets to enjoy concerts in the park. There are also other city festivals held at this location. It has a large playground and a fitness trail.

Pitcairn Cove Beach Park

You don't have to own a waterfront home to have access to the beaches and put your boat in Lake Wylie if you live in Tega Cay. Pitcairn Park has a day dock and a boat ramp for residents to launch and dock their boats during the day. There is also several picnic tables by the water and a large grill and picnic pavilion at Pitcairn Park.

Casual Waters Restaurant

The clubhouse at the center of Tega Cay includes the Tega Cay Golf Pro Shop and an event pavilion. The restaurant, Casual Waters, has a formal dining room and a veranda for eating outside. There is a more casual bar and snack bar which also offers tables outside. On some nights there is live music.

Tega Cay City Hall and City Services

Tega Cay is managed by an elected City Council and a City Manager. There is a very active Parks and Recreations department, a Tega Cay Police Department and the Tega Cay Fire Department. All of these services are in place to keep the life in Tega Cay healthy and safe.

Tega Cay Elementary School

Tega Cay is part of the highly rated Fort Mill School system. Tega Cay Elementary School is a brand new elementary school that just opened in 2015. It is located right at the entrance to the development. The facility is state of the art. Some Fridays are "bike or walk to school day". Some children ride their bikes or walk to school every day. Or you can ride them all to school in your golf cart ! The school has access to the 3 athletic fields inside the Tega Cay development. There are also athletic fields and playgrounds on the school grounds. Sometimes there is a freeze on new enrollment at Tega Cay Elementary. Some families move to Tega Cay and Fort Mill just to be in the Fort Mill School system. There are also several preschools just outside of the Tega Cay entrance.

Stockbridge Shopping Center

There is no other place where you can feel like you are living on permanent vacation with waterfront parks on Lake Wylie, the Tega Cay Golf Club, miles of walking trails and parks right at your doorstep. And there are several shopping centers at the entrance to Tega Cay with all kinds of businesses, restaurants and conveniences less than two miles from the center of Tega Cay. The Stockbridge Shopping Center on the corner of Golf Hill Road and 160 at the entrance to Tega Cay has a grocery store, banks, fitness centers, restaurants, ice cream shop and other businesses.
