Wilcox House

This Queen Anne-style home was the basis for a very scandalous affair back in the early 1900’s. This home was built by William F. Markham, owner of the Markham Air Rifle Company who was married with two children. The home was not built for his wife, but for his mistress who also served as his secretary. Because Mrs. Markham would not grant him a divorce, he had this house built across the street from his residence. When Mrs. Markham’s died, William went on to marry his mistress.

Because this was such a scandal in its time, the community rejected the newly married couple so they sold to George and Harriet Wilcox in 1911 and they moved to California where he bought land that later became Hollywood.
The home is still identified as the “Wilcox House” for the many subsequent years of ownership by the Wilcox family.

Liberty Street Brewing Company

This one of our favorite local hangouts. Its a true brew pub the brick interior and granite counter tops gives it an old world charm. They have anywhere from 8-12 beers on tap from their flagship brew Steamy Window's to seasonal brews. They offer a very limited food menu, but they do allow food to be delivered to the brewery.

Military Memorial Park

This park is dedicated primarily to the natives of the Plymouth territory - nowadays Canton, Northville, and Livonia - who sacrificed their lives for the nation in the course of two World Wars, the Korean, and Vietnam Wars. It also commemorates all the soldiers fallen in the wars ever fought by the United States. The distinctive part of the memorial is the flower bed featuring red, white and blue color stripes.
