Tanger Outlet Center Westgate

A great location, lots of stores to shop at and great scenery. Plenty of parking is available… if there isn't a game going on at Cardinal Stadium. It is usually not extremely overcrowded so there is always room to walk around and get your exercise by doing a couple of laps as you check out all the stores. Where, you may ask….Tanger Outlet shops - Exit 7 on the 101 South at Glendale Avenue adjacent to Westgate and the Glendale arena.

Some of the name outlets include Ralph Lauren, C. Klein, Hilfiger, Guess, Levis, Lucky Brand, a good number of shoe stores, a book outlet, Gymboree child's clothing, Children’s Place, a couple of toy stores, Tools Direct, Creusset, Kitchen Collection, Oakley Vault & Sunglass Hut, Gap, Nike, Coach, Banana Republic, Jockey underwear, Gold Toe socks and more. The designer outlet clothiers seem to be aimed mostly at younger crowd from teens on to maybe 30s, but there is a Talbot's, a Lane Bryant, and a Brooks Bros. "factory store" as well.

There is a decent sized food court and a few restaurants on-site if you get hungry while shopping and even more restaurants nearby if you’re in the mood for something other than what is offered right on the outlet site. Should you want to include a movie in your shopping experience there is also the Harkins theatre closeby.

Something to be aware of is that when the Cardinals are playing a $10 fee is charged to park at the outlets as well as the Westgate Center.

Cancer Treatment Centers of America at Western Regional Medical Center

Cancer Centers of America – Goodyear, AZ. I had the experience of being with friends, one of whom was being treated at the Cancer Center located in Goodyear. A statement I came upon by Cancer Centers of America says, “ For 30 years, we've been committed to finding the right combination of treatments for our patients. Your cancer isn’t like anyone else’s—and neither should your treatment be.” My friend was treated as if he was a family member of the team of cancer experts and other staff members. I observed when I visited that all the members of his cancer team to whom I was introduced knew him and greeted him and his wife by name. The treatment he received was personalized to his special psychological, emotional and of course his medical needs. At Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), managing the side effects of cancer treatment is half the battle. I found, along with my friends, that when CTCA says, “We're here to help you understand your cancer treatment options so you can feel confident in the care you choose” they absolutely do what they state. I believe that the West Valley and surrounding areas are privileged to have this outstanding medical facility in their midst.

Phoenix International Raceway

Phoenix International Raceway, which is located within the city of Avondale, hosts several popular auto races such as the NASCAR Winston Cup Dura-Lube 550 and the Copper World Classic Race which all car race enthusiasts enjoy. The raceway is located just south of the city and away from residential areas. White Tanks Mountain Regional Park, a popular recreational area lies to the northwest of the city. Avondale is a city which offers much to its residents from great housing, schools, shopping and recreational areas.

Goodyear, Arizona, is home to the Goodyear Ballpark where the major league Cincinnati Reds and the Cleveland Indians have their Spring training. The stadium is also home-game park to the Goodyear Centennials of the Freedom Pro Baseball League. A couple of other baseball teams of the Arizona League, the Arizona League Indians and the Arizona League Reds also play at the stadium… so there is plenty of baseball events to attend. You might also enjoy Movies at the Ballpark when there are no ball games!

University of Phoenix Stadium

University of Phoenix Stadium, opened Aug. 1, 2006, is a multipurpose football stadium located in Glendale, AZ. It is the home of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) and the annual Fiesta Bowl, and replacedTempe's Sun Devil Stadium as the Valley of the Sun's main outdoor stadium. The stadium is adjacent to the Gila River Arena and it features the first fully retractable natural grass playing surface built in the United States on top of an AirField Systems drainage system. An opening on one side of the stadium allows the playing field to move to the exterior of the building, allowing the entire natural turf playing surface to be exposed to daylight and also allowing the floor of the stadium to be used for any other purpose without damaging the turf.
The stadium has hosted the Fiesta Bowl, the 2007 BCS National Championship Game, Super Bowl XLII, WrestleMania XXVI, the 2011 BCS National Championship Game, a game that it hosted every four years, which set the venue's entertainment attendance record of 78,603 on Jan. 11, 2011, and Super Bowl XLIX. It will host the Pro Bowl and CONCACAF Gold Cup matches this year, 2015 and the NCAA Final Four in 2017. The University of Phoenix acquired the naming rights in September 2006, shortly after the stadium had opened under the name Cardinals Stadium.
