James A. Garfield National Historic Site

"Lawnfield" as it was nicknamed by reporters, is a United States National Historic Site which preserves the house and land associated with the 20th President of the United States, James Abram Garfield. This property was the site for President Garfield's successful front porch campaign in 1880. There are tours of the house and on-site museum daily.

Mentor Headlands Beach State Park

Mentor Headlands Beach State Park is the largest natural sand beach in the state of Ohio. It is over one mile long and nestled along the beautiful Lake Erie shoreline. The park is open all year and provides opportunities for cross country skiing in the winter, hiking, swimming, fishing, boating and multiple picnic and playground areas.

Mentor Public Schools

"Excellent" public school system as rated by Ohio Department of Education. This public school system has top rated academic, sports, music and theater programs. Within this district, there is one high school, three middle schools and nine elementary schools.

Mentor Civic Ice Arena

You can ice skate all year round at the indoor ice arena! Figure skating, hockey, family skating, open skating, birthday party rentals and special events occur often. This venue is fun for the whole family!

Eleanor B. Garfield Park

This park is one of many located in beautiful Mentor. This park has a pond for fishing, numerous hiking trails, swimming pool, baseball/softball fields, picnic and playground areas! It is close to nearby shopping and dining and a peaceful area to take a stroll and unwind!

Veterans Memorial Park

This is another one of the many beautiful parks located in Mentor. This park offers a picnic and playground area. Additionally, it has a beautiful lake with hiking trails. It also offers a wooden boardwalk type deck that allows you to walk out into middle of lake to do some fishing or just sit and relax while taking in the breathtaking surroundings.

Mentor Civic Center Park Pool

This is one of several public pools located in Mentor. It provides fun for the whole family! You can also join summer swim team for children, sign up for swim lessons and enjoy many other activities the city of Mentor parks and recreation department offer during the summer months.

Mentor Public Library

Mentor is lucky to have one of the finest libraries in the area and this is their main branch located in the heart of the city close to the historic Center street area, Garfield house and multiple dining and shopping venues. The library offers a large children's section, audiovisual area, computers for public use and a large selection of all different types of books. You can check out e-readers and this branch also participates in lending Ebooks & Audiobooks through Overdrive.
