Top 16 Neighborhood Amenities of Preston Hollow, Dallas, TX

Preston Hollow is located 6 miles north of Downtown Dallas. It is considered one of the most prestigious neighborhood in Dallas and boasts many famous residents. Former president George W. Bush, business executive and presidential candidate Ross Perot, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban are among the celebrities calling Preston Hollow home. In this guide, I will give you an overview of the amenities in Preston Hollow.

Preston Royal Library

Preston Royal Library is a branch of the Dallas Public Library. The library offers a large selection of books and movies, it has free WiFi, a Teen Center, and organizes regular story time for children. The staff is friendly and helpful so that you can enjoy the time spent at the library.

Central Market

Central Market offers a wide variety of fruit, vegetable, meats, and packaged products. Their specialty is freshly prepared food, so they limit space for packaged products in order to allow more space for fresh produce, meat and seafood, bulk products, and chef-prepared items. Central Market also has a dining area where you can have dinner and taste some of their prepared foods.

The Rachofsky House

The Rachofsky House is an art museum located in the private house of Cindy and Howard Rachofsky. The collection contains approximately 800 works of contemporary art. It includes American Minimalism, post-war European Art, and the art of post-war Japan. The works of art are presented on a rotating basis.

Equinox

Equinox is a state of the art gym that provides various training classes. The gym is equipped with all kinds of imaginable machines for individual training. Equinox also offers classes with professional trainers who are very well informed in their field. It has free WiFi for your phone or you could use one of their computers, if you need it. The gym also has a full body spa that can be used by members.

Preston Hollow Park

Preston Hollow Park is one of the two parks operated by the City of Dallas in the neighborhood. The 7.2 acres (2.9 ha) Preston Hollow Park includes two baseball/softball fields, one soccer (football) field, two tennis courts, one basketball court, one playground, seven picnic tables, and trails.

Netherland Park

Netherland Park is the second park operated by the City of Dallas in Preston Hollow. The park has 5.3-acre (2.1 ha) and includes two tennis courts and trails. Netherland Park is also suitable for activities like fishing and picnicking.

Ursuline Academy of Dallas

Ursuline Academy of Dallas is a Catholic college preparatory high school for girls located on Walnut Hill Lane. It is a member of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Dallas and was founded in 1874, making it the oldest school in the city of Dallas. Ursuline is a relatively small high school, enrolling a mean of 800 students each year with a 10:1 average student-teacher ratio. As the oldest school in the city of Dallas, Ursuline has had over 130 years in which to develop strong traditions in which all members of the community participate at one time or another.

Wesley Prep

Wesley Prep is a private school and also a ministry of Lovers lane United Methodist Church that opened in 1968. The school offers programs for children six months to sixth grade in a traditional environment with a few nontraditional differences like a low student to teacher ratio, superior development program, experiential learning, and a “whole child” approach, balancing from arts and science to sports and technology.

Preston-Royal Preschool

Preston Royal Preschool was founded in 1958 as a program of the Central Congregational Church. The school accepts all families, children and staff members regardless of race, gender, faith, nationality or ethnicity. The school provides a nurturing learning environment for children aged between 18 months and 5 years. The staff is professional and they receive continuous training in early childhood education.

Primrose School of Preston Hollow

Primrose School is a private preschool for children 6 weeks to 5 years. The school was founded in 1982 and since it has offered a premier educational child care experience. The school partners with parents to help the children build a foundation for their further life and future learning.

Preston Hollow Elementary School

Preston Hollow Elementary School is a public primary school. It enrolls students in grades PK-5 and is a part of the Dallas Independent School District. The school is located within the Preston Hollow North subdivision. The school serves homes within the homeowner associations of Glen Lakes, Lane Park, Preston Hollow North, Sorento, and Windsor Park. It also serves The Meadows Neighborhood Association and a portion of the Caruth Hills Home Place Neighborhood Association. All DISD elementary school students, including Preston Hollow students, are required to wear school uniforms.

St. Mark's School of Texas

The St. Mark's School of Texas is a nonsectarian preparatory day school for boys. The School offers grades 1–12. On its 40 acre-campus is an array of buildings, most of which are named after well-known Dallas families. Its 849 students are spread across first through twelfth grade, and the overall student/faculty ratio is 8:1. Of more than 120 faculty and administrative members, 92 have advanced degrees, including nine with doctorates. More than 30 faculty members have been at the School 20 years or more. St. Mark's organizes 17 varsity sports teams that compete against similarly-sized private schools in the Southwest Preparatory Conference. St. Mark's offers 42 Upper School clubs and academic teams for the 80 to 90 boys per graduating class.

Lovers Lane United Methodist Church

Lovers Lane United Methodist Church was formed in the 1940s on Lovers Lane. Later it moved several blocks away, but maintained its name. The congregation is a multinational one having people who immigrated from nations in Africa and Central America. The church has various ministries like the deaf ministry, special needs ministry, music ministry, kids and adults ministries etc. They also have Sunday School classes for children including the littlest ones.

Northwest Bible Church

Northwest Bible Church is a multi-generational church that began from 14 families in 1951. The congregation is friendly and welcomes newcomers who share the same beliefs and dependence on Jesus Christ. The congregation gathers every Sunday for worship and also organizes group Biblical studies.
