Top 10 Neighborhood Amenities in Sarasota, FL

Sarasota, Bradenton, Venice and North Port - where well being captures the happiness of individuals - have been voted the happiest cities to live in in the USA. If it's true that happier workers are often more productive, then it's just as true that a healthy economy can improve the well-being of people. While measuring well-being is both, complex and quite diverse across the country, it is widely accepted that no large urban area in the United States has ever had happier residents than those inhabiting the North-Port-Sarasota-Bradenton area of Florida.

The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art

Each Monday, during the summer months, the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art is open free of charge to the local residents. Apart from its exposition, the museum also boasts great gift shops and excellent on-site food venues. Located right on the water, it is often used for a wide range of things. Mini shows also take place rather often on its grounds. Visitors can take a guided tour.

Cà d'Zan Mansion

Cà d'Zan Mansion is a museum and a wonderful venue for weddings and corporate events. The building itself is located on the gulf waters, and the sunset views, opening from its upper patio, are truly breathtaking. The mansion is made of stone and has many winding rooms.

Sarasota Classic Car Museum

I come from a car family and, for me, there are some truly great beauties to see here! This museum is conveniently located, just off the main road on US 41. For all you car fans out there, Florida has many car clubs and events to win prices and trophies.

Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall

This concert hall is a gathering place for various events. There are many good concerts held here during the year and seasonal tickets make it easy to see them all. A great gift to make for someone special! Located close to the Hyatt and the Ritz, right down town, the venue often hosts charity events for the community, including one of my favorites - the July Boat Regatta.

Sarasota Opera House

This opera house has a fantastic line up for all seasons. They also host one of the finest summer camps for children of all ages. This small quaint venue is a must see for all visitors to the area. My personal favorite here is the Christmas show!

Florida Studio Theatre

This is one of the most wonderful places for college students, and not only, to come and get smashing theatrical experience. An attraction in its own right - most impressive to me, actually - is the fact that the actors, who work here, come practically from all over the world.

Golden Apple Dinner Theatre

A combination of dinner and show experience here is one of a kind. Equity performers welcome, as well as the local children who love to sing and dance. To a former dancer like myself, this has always been one step above the community theater, of which this area has many.

Trader Joe's

Going green? - This is the place to shop. America as a whole, in my own opinion, has gone to a healthier side of thinking it terms of eating. I just love this store!! The juice bar right on over to the beer and wine isle. Meats and produce are all organic. Gluten free? - Not a problem. You will find it all here, including many other mouth watering foods.

Westfield Southgate

Westfield Southgate offers great safe environment for all ages. Their food court abounds in a variety of outlets. Among other amenities here are movie theater, Costco, Macy's and more. Christmas is particularly luring when the whole place is decorated to the nines. Westfield often hosts pageant and modeling shows for all family members. Located in north Sarasota, it's an easy cross town travel to get here.

The Mall at University Town Center

One of our area's newest additions, this Mall is where high-end retailers from around the world flock in in their numbers! In fact, this is the most impressive Mall I've ever seen in Florida. It comes with valet parking and electric car dock stations. No food court here but, you can eat lavishly at Cheesecake Factory, Studio 52, Brio, Sophie's in Saks, Fifth Avenue, The Capital Grill, just to name a few...
