St Charles / Illinois
Based on our own corporate relocation adventures (between the US and England, and within the US), and by helping many professionals relocate both within the US and globally, we thought we’d highlight the primary ways we help.

First, while transferees and their families are usually excited about the move, they usually have some trepidation mixed with that excitement. We understand, and we’re here to help. We’ve faced “culture shock” and “sticker shock” too -- and it’s always a mix of excitement and anxiety. It may be a job promotion or a new job, which can make the decision easier (as it may mean a bigger paycheck), but there are many other reasons for corporate and expat moves. So, one of the first things we do is to help people realize that life can be just as good, if not better, in their “new hometown” despite potential reluctance. Not that we ever try to push people — it’s their decision. We just try to bring our personal experience to bear, opening their eyes to new possibilities so that they’re more accepting of the idea of relocating. A positive state of mind sure helps at times like this! And Chicagoland is one of the great global cities.

Second, in terms of complexity, an inter-state or inter-country move is right up there. More so than for local moves, we have to adopt the role of “trusted advisors” to help you navigate a very stressful few months. We almost fill the role of psychologists, calming understandably frayed nerves, as people deal with unusual work and family issues. Then, of course, there’s the standard real estate part—either showing you homes, or getting yours sold, and linking you with the right professionals to help us do it successfully. It’s our job to ensure that everything stays on track throughout what can be one of life’s most stressful situations, and probably one of your most complex financial transactions. There’s a lot at stake, and we’re here by your side to make sure it all turns out smoothly.

We ably cover a large swath of Chicagoland territory to the west and northwest of the city. We previously lived in the Northwest Suburbs for many years, and since the late 1990’s in the Western Suburbs, in the beautiful Tri-Cities area of the Fox Valley. We’ve also worked in many areas, including downtown Chicago. So we can ably help people moving to in-demand areas in DuPage, Kane, suburban Cook, Lake, McHenry, and Will counties. No matter where people are from, they want the same things – good schools, safe neighborhoods, and great amenities. We know the territory, and will help you find what you want, while being affordable for you.

We are both Certified Relocation Specialists, so you can be assured of professionalism.
