I’ve been a licensed Realtor since 2002 and the author of The Tampa Real Estate Insider Blog, which I started in 2006 — now, my blog is a top-ranking resource for homebuyers and sellers looking for hot topics and trends in the Tampa real estate market. I write about topics that will help my readers navigate the world of Tampa real estate. I share market statistics, pointers for selling homes, home buying tips and recap case studies of tough-to-move properties that I got to the closing table.

South Tampa Neighborhood Guide

South Tampa is centrally located near Downtown Tampa in the 33629 zip code. South Tampa is one of the best places to live because it has one of Tampa’s best high schools, Plant High School, as well as all A rated Elementary and Middle Schools. Families looking for a great neighborhood close to Downtown Tampa, major interstates and MacDill AFB flock to this neighborhood for that reason. South Tampa Stats: In April of 2015 the median sales price is $479,900, up from $396,250 in March of 2015 and up over last year’s figure as well. (If you look at a two-year chart, March’s price went really low, but the dip looks like an aberration rather than a trend.) New pending sales are up 35 percent from a year ago, along with an almost 33 percent increase in sales that closed. There are many new construction homes being built in the South Tampa area, as older homes are being torn down. The area is transforming and is one of the most desirable places to live, work and play.
