Top 10 Neighborhood Amenities in Fort Worth, Texas

Fort Worth has had an amazing transformation over the past twenty years. The downtown area was deserted after dark in the 80's, but not anymore! Fort Worth boasts three outstanding museums and the annual FW Stock Show has a six-week run in February & March. The museums and the Stock Show at the Will Rogers complex are within walking distance from each other. Another area that has exploded over the past five years is West 7th St. where the old Montgomery Ward warehouse stood vacant for years along with other crumbling neighborhoods. What used to be an eyesore is now at the center of a vibrant collection of downtown condos, independent restaurants, upscale shops, parks, and much more. The Bass family of Fort Worth is a major contributor of the revitalization of downtown FW. It started with Sundance Square in the late 80's with the crown jewel being Bass Hall, home to The Cliburn International Piano Competition and other outstanding performances by major entertainers from around the country. Fort Worth hosts some of the best hospitals in the state and the hospital district areas like Magnolia St have become a magnet for startup independent restaurants & shops with the surrounding neighborhood homes being renovated. Homes built in the 20's & 30's have been completely gutted and updated by young professionals who want to live close to work and have the amenities close to home. Our TCU Horned Frog football team is now on the national stage during the playoffs in January and the TCU campus is growing by leaps & bounds. FW has rail transport from downtown right into Dallas.
